Rotorua Airport

Rotorua Airport is the gateway to Central Park New Zealand for international and domestic visitors alike.  Its location in the heart of New Zealand’s North Island makes it an ideal airport for business and leisure visitors alike.

Rotorua Airport has been the gateway for travellers around New Zealand for the past 40 years, and from December 12, it will receive its first Trans Tasman flights to and from Sydney with Air New Zealand.

The announcement that Air New Zealand will provide Trans Tasman flights between Rotorua and Sydney is an exciting and significant development for everyone involved.

Visitors from Australia, and via that country from around the world, will be able to fly directly into Rotorua, and quickly access everything that Central Park has to offer. At the same time, residents from communities around the Central North Island will be able to fly directly to Australia, with greater ease and access.

Rotorua Airport is located approximately one hours driving time from Tauranga, Whakatane and Taupo and only two hours drive to Hamilton. It is just two and a half hours from Auckland.

Visitors will find a modern airport that offers all the conveniences expected from a sophisticated regional facility.

All major rental car companies have desks at Rotorua Airport and the airport is serviced by shuttles and taxis.  Rotorua city is located only 8 minutes drive from the airport.
