Category A – Fare Paying Passenger Services

  • all aircraft operating as part of a scheduled airline passenger service
  • all non-scheduled fare-paying passenger services where the aircraft has 7 or more available passenger seats, provided that the charge shall not be less than the corresponding MCTOW-based charge applicable under Category B
  • all parachute operations within the Rotorua Airport parachute drop sectors

Service Includes

  • use of runway, taxiway, apron, terminal and related airfield facilities – except that apron parking for periods greater than 2 hours by special arrangement only (subject to availability)
  • use of runway, taxiway, parachute landing area and related airfield facilities, but excluding the use of aprons and terminal facilities

Category B5 – General Aviation & Freight

  • all aircraft being used for private or recreational purposes where fare-paying passengers are not being carried
  • all non-scheduled fare-paying passenger services where the aircraft has 6 or less available passenger seats
  • all non-scheduled services carrying freight or non-fare paying passengers
  • all scheduled passenger services where total kilograms of freight or unaccompanied baggage is great than 10% of the MCTOW of the aircraft, provided that the charge shall not be less than the corresponding POB / MCTOW charge applicable under Category A

Service Includes

  • use of runway, taxiway and related airfield facilities
  • use of apron and terminal facilities by special arrangement and subject to availability. The following additional charge shall apply:

Category C – Helicopters

  • all rotary wing aircraft (landing charges apply to all landings within the boundaries of Rotorua Airport (whether operational, non operational or leased land).

Development Levy

All departing passengers aged 5 years and over are required to purchase a $5 airport development levy ticket prior to boarding an aircraft.

 

  1. The charges are set in accordance with the Airport Authorities Act 1966 and may be varied from time to time
  2. All charges subject to 15% Goods & Services Tax all charges payable by 20th of following month – a late payment charge equivalent to 1.5% per month or part thereof shall apply to all charges which remain outstanding at the end of the following month a minimum invoice amount of $15 per invoice shall apply
  3. Persons on board include all crew, fare paying and non fare paying passengers aircrew to provide Air Traffic Controller at Rotorua Airport with number of persons on board – where the number is not provided the POB charge, where applicable, shall apply to the maximum number of seats
  4. MCTOW means maximum certified take-off weight
  5. General Aviation aircraft will only be charged for a single landing per 2 hour period where approaches/ touchdowns / takeoffs are carried out for training purposes
  6. Subject to availability – parking time estimated by RRAL
